Butterflies hatch in a milkweed plant under the window of the owners of this watercolor. They enjoy their coffee each morning, watching as the butterflies make the flight up to the top of Mt. Helix (La Mesa, CA) where I photographed them all around me and was inspired to paint "Flight to the heART"... this year's LIVE watercolor I painted during the annual fundraising event.
