This is my self-portrait ~ a visual of how I make a lasting statement, and the audience percieves me, when I perform for them at live demonstrations. The huge brush and blue painters tape are trademark icons of how I create the free-wheeling McPherson Signature Style.
Since I often present "larger-than-life", many see me as self-centered so I chose to play that up by composing to dead center which, at the same time, drives others a little mad that I broke a cardinal rule.
This gives me the start of a dialog in explaining how my painting approach is more intuitive than academic... I know the rules, therefor I can bend them...
